The Cavaliers opened the third quarter on a 22-0 run to beat the Pistons in Game 4.

The Detroit Pistons walked into the locker room at halftime with all the momentum. They were up 56-52 on the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 4, fueled by Caris LeVert's 17 first-half points. But what happened after the break turned the series on its head.

Coming out of the tunnel, the Pistons looked ready to take control. Tobias Harris opened the third quarter with a mid-range jumper that clanked off the rim. Donovan Mitchell answered with a floater for Cleveland's first bucket of the half. Then, the roof caved in.

Over the next seven minutes, the Cavaliers unleashed a 22-0 run—the second-longest scoring surge by any team in a playoff game since 1998. Mitchell was unstoppable, dropping 18 of his game-high 42 points during that stretch. The Pistons couldn't buy a basket, missing eight straight shots and coughing up four turnovers while Cleveland shot 10-of-12 from the field.

The drought finally ended when Paul Reed threw down a driving dunk with 5:57 left in the third quarter. Reed finished with 15 points off the bench, shooting a perfect 7-of-6 from the floor. Cade Cunningham managed 19 points and six assists but was plagued by five turnovers. Harris, who was a bright spot early with 14 first-half points, finished with 16.

For Pistons fans, this loss stings. The series is now tied 2-2, and the team heads back to Detroit knowing they let a golden opportunity slip away. In the playoffs, momentum is everything—and right now, it's wearing wine and gold.
