The Philadelphia Phillies season continues to go from bad to worse as their losing streak hits double digits (10 games). All aspects of the roster have failed, with the offense not scoring enough runs to win or the pitching staff giving away games nothing appears to be going right for the Phillies.
According to MLB.com’s Todd Zoleci, the Phillies are one game away from tying their longest losing streak, which came in September 4-14 when they lost 11 straight games. This is only the Phillies' fifth losing streak of 10 or more games since 1972.

With frustrations beginning to mount, everyone in the clubhouse is at a loss for words on how to change things around.
“It's not great,” first baseman Bryce Harper said postgame. “Obviously, the spot where we want to be. Said it multiple times, it's like beating a dead horse, man. I mean, we can all say the same thing every single day. Nobody wants to hear it. So we just got to win. I mean, plain and simple so we understand we lost tonight. Understand that we had a great day yesterday. All those things, right? It doesn't matter until you win a game. So just got to continue to fight and come in tomorrow and start tomorrow.”

To Harper’s credit, he hasn’t been the problem for the Phillies this season. The two-time MVP is hitting .258 with a .861 OPS and is second to designated hitter Kyle Schwarber (eight) in home runs (six).
Harper helped give the Phillies the lead in the fifth inning when he hit a 389-foot home run to center field. However, that lead would wash away two innings later when Braves center fielder Michael Harris II hit a two-run home run to make it 4-3.
The Phillies will try to end the losing streak on Saturday when their ace, right-hander Zack Wheeler, returns to the mound. Wheeler has been rehabbing from thoracic outlet syndrome surgery in his right shoulder.
Getting Wheeler back could prove to be the boost of life the Phillies need to get a win.
