In an extraordinary achievement that has the Peoria soccer community buzzing, a freshman from Peoria Notre Dame High School has earned a coveted spot on the U.S. Soccer Under-15 Girls National Team. Defensive standout Siena Stone, a Germantown Hills resident, will trade her Irish jersey for the red, white, and blue as she heads to Europe for international duty.

Stone will participate in the International Mixed Camp in De Lutte, Netherlands, from May 15-25. During this trip, the U.S. squad will face the Netherlands on May 20 and Germany on May 24—two powerhouse programs that will provide a true test of Stone's talent on the global stage. This opportunity comes at a price, however, as she will miss Notre Dame's regional round of the IHSA playoffs. Fortunately, she is scheduled to return in time for the sectionals, keeping her team's championship hopes alive.

The 20-player roster is exclusively made up of athletes born in 2011, marking them as the generation that will aim to qualify for the 2028 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup. For Stone, this is not just an honor but a stepping stone toward representing her country at the highest levels of youth soccer.

Stone's absence will be felt, but the Irish have built a remarkable season that speaks to their depth and resilience. Notre Dame boasts an eye-popping 21-0-2 record, with an incredible 20 shutouts and a perfect 10-0 mark in the Big 12 Conference. Their dominance is reflected in a staggering 134-5 goal differential—a testament to a team that plays with both flair and discipline.

As Stone prepares to take on the world's best young talent, her journey from the fields of Peoria to the international stage serves as an inspiration for young athletes everywhere. Whether she's wearing her Notre Dame kit or the U.S. crest, one thing is clear: this freshman is already making history.
