No. 14 Penn State lacrosse trounced No. 19 Rutgers 16-8, winning their fourth straight Friendship Cup and earning a No. 2 seed in the Big Ten tourney.

The No. 14 Penn State Nittany Lions didn't just close their regular season; they slammed the door shut with authority. In a commanding 16-8 victory over No. 19 Rutgers, Penn State captured its fourth consecutive Friendship Cup and, more importantly, locked down the No. 2 seed for the upcoming Big Ten Tournament.

After a slow start from both sides, Penn State's offense ignited, showcasing the depth and talent that makes them a postseason threat. They dominated the middle stages of the game, outscoring the Scarlet Knights 10-2 across the second and fourth quarters. The young stars led the charge, with sophomore Hunter Aquino netting four goals and redshirt freshman Andrew Beard matching his five-point tally. Jack Iannantuono also found his way back onto the scoresheet, adding to the offensive fireworks.

Defensively, the Nittany Lions were just as formidable. Goaltender Preston Hawkins stood tall with 10 saves, while the unit in front of him forced a punishing 16 Rutgers turnovers, stifling any chance of a comeback.

With this decisive win, Penn State earns a coveted automatic bye into the Big Ten Tournament semifinals. They'll next take the field on Saturday, April 30th, rested and ready to chase a conference championship, carrying the momentum of a statement victory and a trophy they've made their own.
