The NBA Playoffs have not been the most kind to Paul George in recent years. He has yet to win a Larry O'Brien trophy with the Philadelphia 76ers but there are strides being made. One of them came in Game 5 of their first-round matchup against the Boston Celtics. To help out Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey, Paul George popped off after such a long time. He might have even regained the 'Playoff P' title.

The start of Game 5 between the 76ers and Celtics was not the most ideal for Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey. They were trailing 57-50 by the half and needed someone to step up in overall production. Paul George was exactly the player that they needed.

Coach Nick Nurse played him for a game-high 43 minutes alongside Maxey and Embiid. By the end of Game 5 of this NBA Playoffs bout, George had 16 points through getting a 46.13% field goal percentage and going 44% from three-point range. He also helped the 76ers offense by dropping seven assists.

Defensively, George was spectacular against the Celtics in Game 5. He got nine rebounds while also getting two steals. He led all the players in this NBA Playoffs game with his +19 plus-minus which proves how great of an impact he made.

This is the first time that George recorded 15+ points, 5+ rebounds, 5+ assists, and 2+ assists in an NBA Playoffs game since 2024, per StatMuse. His contributions could not be understated enough and were enough to get the 76ers the Game 5 win over the Celtics.
