The Patriots just wrapped up the 2026 NFL Draft, and while everyone is caught up in mock draft season, it’s a good time to consider some players that New England could potentially add to its roster during the 2027 NFL Draft.
Dane Brugler from The Athletic released a 2027 NFL Mock Draft on Tuesday, projecting that the Patriots will select Miami pass rusher Damon Wilson II with the 25th overall pick.
"Missouri’s leader in sacks last season with nine, Wilson has the unenviable task of filling the shoes of (Rueben) Bain and (Akheem) Mesidor — but he has the talent to make a name for himself," Brugler wrote.
Wilson is gearing up for his fourth season in college football. After playing his first two years at Georgia, he transferred to Missouri last season. Now, he’s moved on to Miami during the offseason and is ready to make his mark there.
In his 39-game career, Wilson has recorded 15.5 tackles for loss and 12.5 sacks, including nine sacks last season. He now has the opportunity to further develop his skills at Miami, where two pass rushers were selected in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft.
