New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel has been in the news quite a bit lately thanks to a scandal involving him and former NFL insider for The Athletic, Dianna Russini.

Pictures of Vrabel and Russini spending time together at a resort in Arizona were released earlier this month. At the time, both Russini and Vrabel claimed they were there with separate groups. However, images from 2020 of the two kissing at a bar were released a couple of weeks later, essentially confirming an affair.

Russini has since resigned from her position at The Athletic, and Mike Vrabel has made it clear that he is trying to be better for his family and the team. He missed Day 3 of the NFL Draft to attend counseling. The entire situation has become somewhat of a distraction, and Drake Maye was finally asked about it.

“We’re here for coach, we love coach and what he does for us, and has done for us this past year," Maye told 7 News Boston WHDH's Jonathan Hall. "You can't speak it into words, and thankfully, he's our head coach. We know he’s dealing with some stuff off the field and out of the coaching world but we’re here for him and I know he’s gonna come back.”

Vrabel missing a day of the draft was a big deal because it indicated that the scandal could actually keep him away from football. Vrabel said he did not know if he would miss more football activities. He seems to have the support of his quarterback, however.
