The New England Patriots' 2026 NFL Draft class is set.
Through three days, the Patriots worked the draft board with multiple trades in an effort to find the right young talent to continue building their roster. They hit a home run in head coach Mike Vrabel's first year with the team last season. Only time will tell if they can do so in back-to-back years.
One thing is certain: The Patriots addressed multiple needs on the roster by selecting prospects with high-end potential. It will ultimately be up to the team to develop the players they drafted, but as shown last season, the star-studded coaching staff in New England is up to the task.
Let's take a look at the entire Patriots 2026 NFL Draft class.
The Patriots fortified their offensive line by trading up to No. 28 and selecting Utah offensive tackle Caleb Lomu. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Patriots traded picks No. 31 and No. 125 to the Buffalo Bills to move up the draft board.
Adding another offensive tackle might not have been the most exciting move, but it was needed, given Morgan Moses' age and health history. Lomu is a talented offensive lineman who should give the Patriots a future high-end starter across from Will Campbell for years to come.
The Patriots finally got help on the edge in Day 2 of the draft by trading up with the Los Angeles Chargers to select Illinois edge rusher Gabe Jacas. It was New England shipping picks No. 63, 131 and 202 to the Chargers in exchange for the No. 55 pick.
Jacas is a monster in the trenches, a physical game-wrecker with a high motor to match. He racked up 11 sacks, 13.5 tackles for a loss and three forced fumbles in his final year at Illinois. His presence behind Dre'Mont Jones and Harold Landry III should add a strong boost to the Patriots' defensive front.
The Patriots addressed another major need in the draft by selecting Notre Dame's Eli Raridon in the third round. Standing at 6-foot-6 and 245 pounds, Raridon is a massive receiving target and productive blocker. He is the complete package as a tight end and the perfect complement for veteran Hunter Henry. In 12 games last season, Raridon had 32 receptions for 482 yards.
There isn't an immediate need at cornerback, but the Patriots needed some depth after losing Alex Austin in the offseason. So they opted to select Wake Forest defensive back Karon Prunty in the fifth round of the draft on Saturday. Prunty didn't receive an NFL Scouting Combine invite, but he did visit the Patriots during the pre-draft process.
All of the physical tools are there with Prunty, but whether he can put them together or not at the NFL level remains to be seen. He had 40 tackles, one interception, eight pass break-ups and one forced fumble in his final collegiate season at Wake Forest.
The Patriots have continued to load up on the offensive line by selecting Texas A&M offensive tackle Dametrious Crownover with the No. 196 overall pick. Not many prospects can match the size and power of this behemoth offensive lineman. Crownover is 6-foot-7 and 319 pounds of power in the trenches. If he cleans up his technique, he could be a force down the road.
Finally, a linebacker. Namdi Obiazor has plenty of experience as a three-year starter at TCU. He figures to serve as a much-needed depth piece at linebacker and a possible special teams contributor.
Who will be the No. 3 running back behind Rhamondre Stevenson and TreVeyon Henderson? Alabama's Jam Miller fits the mold of a bruising, downhill running back who can also contribute on special teams. He carried the ball 130 times for 504 yards and three touchdowns last season. There is room for growth with Miller in New England's offense.
The Patriots wrapped up the 2026 NFL Draft by selecting another edge rusher, and this time, it was a player with local ties. Boston College's Quintayvious Hutchins is explosive in the trenches, and he plays with a high motor. He's undersized at 6-foot-3 and 240 pounds, but his relentless pursuit makes him an interesting prospect in the seventh round.
