The Carolina Panthers will be hosting rookie minicamp this week, which will also feature a few veteran players coming in for a tryout including a former first-round pick.

The Carolina Panthers are set to kick off their rookie minicamp this Friday, and while all eyes will be on the team's 2026 draft class, there's an intriguing veteran presence worth noting. Among the seven draft picks and ten undrafted free agents already signed, the Panthers are hosting a tryout for a former first-round pick who could prove to be an underrated addition to the roster.

Kenyon Green, the 25-year-old offensive lineman selected 15th overall by the Houston Texans in the 2022 NFL Draft, will be in attendance this weekend. The news was first reported by Panthers Statement on X and later confirmed by Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer. Standing at 6'4" and 323 pounds, Green still has plenty of youth and potential on his side.

Green's journey since being drafted has been anything but smooth. He started 14 games at left guard as a rookie, allowing four sacks and 47 pressures—a solid foundation for a young player. However, a shoulder injury sidelined him for the entire 2023 season, and after starting nine games in 2024, he suffered another shoulder injury. The Texans traded Green to the Philadelphia Eagles in March 2025, but he was waived in late September after initially being slated for the practice squad. He finished the 2025 season on the Baltimore Ravens practice squad before being released in January.

Now, Green is looking to revive his career with his fourth team in five years. For the Panthers, this is a low-risk, high-reward move. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers also showed interest, hosting Green for a workout last month, but Carolina is giving him a chance to prove himself on the field during minicamp. With his size, experience, and still-young age, Green could be a valuable depth piece for a Panthers offensive line looking to build consistency. Keep an eye on this tryout—it might just turn into a key signing for the team's future.
