The Green Bay Packers have been busy building for the future, signing five of their six 2026 NFL Draft picks just before rookie minicamp kicked off on May 1. The only holdout? Second-round cornerback Brandon Cisse, who remains unsigned but is still participating in practice under an injury agreement that keeps him protected.

Here's who put pen to paper: third-round defensive tackle Chris McClellan, fourth-round edge rusher Dani Dennis-Sutton, fifth-round center Jager Burton, sixth-round cornerback Domani Jackson, and sixth-round kicker Trey Smack. All of them, along with Cisse, hit the field for the first day of practice, giving fans an early look at the team's future stars.

Draft-pick salaries are largely slotted based on salary-cap totals, which usually makes negotiations smooth. But first- and second-round picks can sometimes get tricky over guaranteed money. No worries for the Packers this year—since they didn't have a first-round pick, they're avoiding that headache entirely. All draft picks sign four-year deals under the collective-bargaining agreement, with first-rounders getting a fifth-year club option that the Packers won't need to worry about in 2026.

Speaking of options, the Packers did exercise the fifth-year option for 2023 first-round pick Lukas Van Ness this week, showing confidence in his development.

But the roster moves didn't stop there. The team also announced 10 undrafted free agent signings, including Iowa State offensive lineman Dylan Barrett, who previously played at Wisconsin. Among the notable names is Virginia Tech quarterback Kyron Drones, who completed 56.5% of his passes for 1,919 yards, 17 touchdowns, and nine interceptions in his senior season. Drones, who started 34 games over three years with the Hokies after transferring from Baylor, is also a dual-threat weapon—he rushed for over 1,847 yards and 22 touchdowns in his college career, including nine last season.

Other undrafted additions include Louisville linebacker TJ Quinn, who led the Cardinals in tackles in 2025. As the Packers gear up for the season, these signings add depth and competition across the roster, setting the stage for an exciting training camp.
