If you can believe it, there are still 19 more picks that need to be made before the Green Bay Packers are on the clock for the first time in the 2026 draft with the 52nd overall selection. The Packers didn’t have a first-round pick this year because of the Micah Parsons trade, which sent the 20th overall selection to the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys, so far, have turned that 20th overall selection into the 23rd (edge rusher Malachi Lawrence), the 114th and the 137th overall picks in this class.
Green Bay general manager Brian Gutekunst didn’t sound too worried about the status of his draft board in his post-draft presser on Thursday night, though. Here’s what he said about whether Day 1 was surprising to him or not:
“There’s always a couple of things. Maybe a guy went a little higher, little lower than we expected, but I didn’t think there were any major surprises — like there are at times. The board held up fairly well, kind of like we expected it to.”
When asked if he was ever seriously considering a trade up on Thursday, Gutekunst said, “Not really.” When asked if he believes he can get a top-30 player on the team’s board at #52, he replied, “Close to that.”
For reference, here are the picks that will be made ahead of the Packers’ first scheduled selection (they could always trade up or down, after all) and who owns them:
