The Pac-Five Wolfpack delivered a thrilling comeback performance to capture the Division II Data House State Softball Championship, edging out the Nanakuli Golden Hawks 7-6 in a dramatic showdown at Patsy Mink Stadium in Kahului on Saturday. It was a game that showcased resilience, clutch hitting, and the unpredictable magic of championship softball.

Nanakuli seized control early, storming back from a deficit with a four-run explosion in the top of the fifth inning. The rally was fueled by two costly errors from the Wolfpack defense and highlighted by a booming three-run double from Kailey Naehu, which gave the Golden Hawks a 5-4 lead. Naehu was a force all game, finishing 3-for-3 with a double and three RBIs, but it wasn't enough to hold off the surging Wolfpack.

Pac-Five refused to back down. In the bottom of the sixth, they mounted their own rally, tying the game on Mauliola Zuttermeister’s sacrifice fly. The go-ahead run came on a Nanakuli error that allowed two runners to cross the plate, swinging the momentum firmly in the Wolfpack's favor. Destiny Tautofi earned the win in relief, pitching 2⅓ innings and allowing just one run in the seventh while striking out two.

Offensively, Dahlia Gangano was unstoppable for Pac-Five, going 4-for-4 with a double, triple, and three runs scored. She ignited the winning rally with a single and stolen base, setting the stage for her team's comeback. Naomi Emi Yamane added a 2-for-4 performance with two runs scored, and Kaimana Siu chipped in with a 2-for-3 day at the plate.

For Nanakuli, Naehu took the loss despite a strong outing in the circle, pitching six innings and striking out nine. Only two of her seven runs allowed were earned. Jasha Pelletier-Barr went 2-for-4 with two runs scored, and Leila Felisi also contributed a 2-for-3 effort, but it wasn't enough to stop the Wolfpack from celebrating their championship triumph.
