The Owensboro Red Devils are officially ringed and ready to celebrate their long-awaited return to glory. After a 39-year drought, the team received their personalized state championship rings, marking a historic milestone for the program.

The Red Devils captured the 5A state title with a commanding 35-7 victory over Pulaski County, a win that capped off a season of resilience and determination. Each ring is a wearable trophy, engraved with the player's name, number, and position, along with the team's record and the final score of the championship game.

For senior linebacker Eli Hampton, the ring is more than just jewelry—it's a symbol of a season that will never be forgotten. "I saw a picture of it in the paper and I said, 'Yeah,'" Hampton said. "It's beautiful, man. I love it. It's got our name and number on it, it's super personalized, and that's very special."

Junior linebacker Ty Ashley echoed that sentiment, reflecting on the team's journey. "We earned them 100%," Ashley said. "We took two hard losses at the beginning of the season, and after that, we got together as teammates and said, 'We are going to turn things around, and we are going to get us one of these.' Today, the emotions were high."

The rings serve as a perfect memento for a team that turned early-season adversity into championship success. Whether displayed on a shelf or worn with pride, these rings are a testament to hard work, unity, and the thrill of victory.
