The Portsmouth Trojans brought their A-game to the Ohio Valley Conference Meet on Tuesday, delivering solid performances at South Point High School. The boys' team tied for fifth place with 52 points, while the girls' squad secured sixth place with 42 points—a testament to the depth and determination of both programs.

Leading the charge for the Lady Trojans were standout athletes Kylee Dixon and Kamaria Henderson, who racked up points across multiple events. Dixon shined brightest in the 400-meter dash, clocking a 1:06.35 to claim second place—the best individual finish for Portsmouth's girls. She wasn't done there, adding a fourth-place in the 100-meter dash (13.49), a fifth-place in the shot put (28 feet, six inches), and a sixth-place in the 200-meter dash (27.93). Henderson, meanwhile, showcased her versatility with a third-place in the 100-meter hurdles (18.63), sixth-place finishes in both the 100-meter dash (14.12) and long jump (14 feet, 8.25 inches), and an eighth-place in the 300-meter hurdles (1:01.47) to chip in a valuable point.

On the boys' side, the Trojans found their star in Casen Myers, who soared to the OVC High Jump Championship by clearing six feet even—a moment that likely had the crowd on their feet. Distance runner JJ Purcell turned in a gritty double, finishing second in both the 1,600-meter run (4:25.65) and the 3,200-meter run (9:55.27), showing off his endurance and competitive fire. JJ Henderson powered to a second-place in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 42.10, while Reid Click delivered a strong runner-up performance in the 800-meter run, crossing the line in 1:55.43.

Rounding out the Trojans' efforts, Myers added a fifth-place in the 110-meter hurdles (17.93), and Brody Monrraga battled through the 3,200-meter run to take eighth (11:42.05). It was a night of grit and growth for Portsmouth, with plenty of highlights to build on for the rest of the season.
