The NBA Draft Combine is heating up in Chicago, and one Kentucky Wildcat is turning heads with a performance that has Big Blue Nation buzzing. Otega Oweh, the two-year standout for the Wildcats, is making a strong case for himself as the draft approaches on June 23-24 in Brooklyn.

In his first scrimmage, Oweh delivered a quiet but impressive 20-point outing, shooting 7-of-12 from the field and 1-of-3 from beyond the arc, all in just 18 minutes of play. He also grabbed four rebounds, showcasing the athleticism and relentless motor that have become his trademarks. The New Jersey native's ability to finish at the rim has scouts taking notice.

But Oweh wasn't done there. In the final scrimmage, he followed up with another 21-point performance, going 6-of-14 from the field and a stellar 9-of-10 from the free-throw line. He added five rebounds and an assist, though his three-point shooting remained inconsistent—going 0-of-5 from deep. Still, his overall impact was undeniable.

Currently ranked 105th on ESPN's list of the best NBA draft prospects for 2026, Oweh is projected to be a second-round pick. Yahoo Sports' Kevin O'Connor recently predicted he'd go 59th overall to the Minnesota Timberwolves. With his strong scrimmage showings, solid numbers, and defensive prowess, Oweh is positioning himself as a sleeper pick that could pay big dividends for an NBA team next month.
