The college basketball transfer portal is officially open, and the Oregon Ducks have seen another key rotation piece depart. Sophomore guard Wei Lin has entered the portal, becoming the sixth Duck to do so this offseason.

Lin's journey to Eugene was unique. A Chinese national, he joined the Ducks for the 2025-26 season after a standout professional stint with the Nanjing Monkey Kings in the Chinese Basketball Association, where he averaged 21 points and 5 assists per game. However, that prolific scoring didn't fully translate to the college level in his first NCAA season.

Primarily coming off the bench, Lin appeared in 30 games with nine starts, averaging 6.6 points and 1.7 assists. His shooting efficiency was a struggle, hitting just 34.4% from the field and 29.5% from three-point range. With two seasons of eligibility remaining, he'll look for a fresh start to unlock more of his potential.

His departure is part of a significant roster exodus following a difficult 12-20 season—the worst of the Dana Altman era. Lin joins early entrants Jackson Shelstad and Kwame Evans Jr., as well as Dezdrick Lindsay, Devon Pryor, and JJ Frakes in the portal.

This mass exit leaves Oregon's roster in a state of major transition. Only four scholarship players—Sean Stewart, Efe Vatan, Ege Demir, and Jamari Phillips—are currently set to return. While talented freshmen Tajh Ariza and Kendre Harrison are on the way, Coach Altman faces a crucial rebuilding task in the portal, especially to bolster a thinning backcourt. The Ducks' offseason strategy will be critical to returning to competitiveness in a loaded conference.
