OneFootball x Songer: Who 'exhausted' Chelsea should appoint as new boss

In the latest installment of OneFootball's collaboration with Shoot Music, we sit down with rapper Songer to talk all things football—and for him, it's all about Chelsea.

Ask Songer when his love for the Blues began, and he'll tell you it's practically in his blood. "I've always supported Chelsea, probably since I was about two years old. My older brother was a massive fan, and as a toddler, I just followed his lead."

When it comes to his favorite childhood memory, there's no hesitation. "Winning the Champions League for the first time—that's the one. I was completely obsessed with Chelsea back then. I can still picture watching the final against Bayern Munich with my dad so clearly. Pure happiness."

But the romance of those glory days feels a world away from the current chaos at Stamford Bridge. Songer doesn't hold back on his feelings about the club's ownership under BlueCo. "It's a complete and utter disgrace, and it has been from the very start. We're being run like a Silicon Valley startup, with zero regard for club identity, the fans, or what it means to be Chelsea. It's exhausting not knowing what we even are anymore. No Chelsea fan wants to be guinea pigs for American billionaires."

So, would an FA Cup win salvage the season? Not in his book. "Winning silverware in a terrible season would be an achievement, sure, but I worry it would validate the owners in their own heads and sugarcoat what's been an emergency. Of course, I'd love to win it, but it wouldn't change what we've been watching all season."

As for who should take the reins next, Songer has a clear vision. "I'd go for a big name. In an ideal world, I'd want Antonio Conte back, but I can't see that happening. If we're looking for someone on the rise, I'd go all in on Cesc Fàbregas—though I doubt he wants to leave Como. It seems pretty bang on that we'll end up with Andoni Iraola at this point. He's not my first choice, but I'll get behind him if we do appoint him."

Songer's new single, 'FIND MY FACE,' is out now—and for Chelsea fans, it might just be the perfect soundtrack to a season that's left them searching for answers.
