The 2026 NFL Draft is approaching fast and league scouts are solidifying their big boards. Wide Receiver Omar Cooper Jr. could be among the players who hear their name called early in Pittsburgh this week when the NFL welcomes its newest class of rookies.

Here's how USA TODAY's latest mock draft currently projects draft day will play out for the former college star.
(Pick No. 13 from the Atlanta Falcons) Hes the kind of win-now player coming off the Hoosiers national championship run the Rams seem likely to target in a clear win-now season that could be league MVP Matthew Stafford's last. The shifty, sure-handed Cooper can do extensive damage from the slot, which would allow Puka Nacua and Davante Adams to do more of their damage outside.
Compact frame absorbs contact well and keeps him upright against defenders and allows him to work upfield. Plays more like a running back in the open field; forced 27 missed tackles in 2025 alone. Best against zone coverage with great contested catch abilities. Experienced lining up wide (2024) and in the slot (2025). Not an elite athlete and has a limited catch radius.
Omar Cooper Jr. expressed initial concerns about moving to the slot in 2025, but the position change ultimately highlighted his versatility and made him an even more attractive draft prospect. He was a menace in the open field with 27 forced missed tackles, tied for fourth most among receivers.
