Eva Olid has been named Manager of the Year at the PFA Scotland awards, and the Hearts boss has set her sights on a fairytale finish to the season. Leading the Edinburgh side to their first-ever SWPL title would be the "dream" conclusion to her tenure, she says.
Olid's side currently sit four points clear at the top of the table with just three games remaining, putting them on the cusp of history. The Spaniard was visibly moved after receiving the award on Sunday night, admitting the recognition came as a surprise. "I didn't expect it. When they said my name, I was full of emotion," she said.
Crediting stability for this season's success, Olid explained: "We kept the same team as last season. When you keep working with the same group, it's important because they know you. They knew what I needed and what I wanted. They have been amazing."
Reflecting on the journey from the club's amateur days to the brink of glory, she added: "Winning the league would be a dream. It would be the best way to finish this project we started five years ago, when the team was amateur, and end by giving the title to the club. It would be the best thing ever."
The awards night also celebrated individual brilliance on the pitch. Glasgow City forward Nicole Kozlova was named SWPL Player of the Year, while Rangers midfielder May Cruft took home the Young Player of the Year honor, capping off a memorable campaign for Scottish women's football.
