The Wildcats have now landed two transfers in the portal this offseason.

Villanova's offseason momentum continues to build, as the Wildcats have secured a commitment from Ohio State transfer forward Devin Royal. The 6-foot-6 junior announced his decision to join head coach Kevin Willard's program, becoming the team's second major portal addition this spring, following former Oregon big man Kwame Evans Jr.

Royal brings proven scoring and rebounding to a Villanova squad looking to bolster its frontcourt. Over his last two seasons as a starter in Columbus, he consistently averaged 13.7 points per game. While his three-point shooting is developing, he took a significant step forward this past season, hitting 31.6% from deep and an impressive 80.2% from the free-throw line.

His physical presence will be a key asset in the Big East. Royal is a strong rebounder, having averaged 6.9 boards as a sophomore and 5.7 last season, and he excels at scoring inside the arc. His ability to finish in the lane and on the glass gives Coach Willard valuable flexibility and depth within the Wildcats' rotation as they prepare for the upcoming season.
