The Ohio State men's tennis team kicked off their NCAA Tournament campaign in dominant fashion, sweeping Buffalo 4-0 on May 1 at the Ty Tucker Tennis Center. The Buckeyes, seeded No. 3 nationally, showed why they're considered a serious contender for the national title, improving their season record to 30-4.

This victory marks the 22nd time in the last 26 years that Ohio State has advanced past the first round of the tournament—a testament to the program's sustained excellence. The Buckeyes now set their sights on a second-round showdown against California on May 2 at 4 p.m., with the winner punching a ticket to next weekend's Super Regional.

Ohio State established control early, securing the doubles point with wins from the duos of Jack Anthrop and Bryce Nakashima, as well as Nikita Filin and Brandon Carpico. From there, the momentum carried into singles play, where Anthrop, Loren Byers, and Filin each delivered straight-set victories to clinch the match. Notably, Aidan Kim, Preston Stearns, and Alexander Bernard were all leading in their second sets when the team victory was sealed, underscoring the depth of this Buckeye squad.

For fans of college tennis, this is a team to watch—and for those who love the sport, it's the perfect time to gear up in your Ohio State apparel as the Buckeyes chase championship glory.
