There's nothing quite like the spirit of playoff basketball—and these tiny Cleveland Cavaliers fans are proving that team pride starts from day one. The Cleveland Clinic Children's NICU recently gave its smallest patients a heartwarming dose of hometown energy by dressing them in adorable Cavaliers gear ahead of the NBA playoffs.

As the Cavaliers prepared for Game 5 of their first-round series against the Toronto Raptors, the hospital's tiniest fighters—some of the most resilient patients you'll ever see—sported custom knit hats and headbands featuring the team's iconic logo. Among them were twins Sullivan and Callahan, who proudly wore matching Cavaliers headbands, while another set of twins took team spirit to the next level: sister Margot dressed as the Cavaliers' beloved mascot, Moondog, while her brother Benjamin rocked a beard and headband combo.

"We're proud to bring a little Cleveland spirit into the NICU," said Julie Gamary, nurse manager at Cleveland Clinic Children's NICU. "Seeing our babies dressed in Cavs-inspired hats and headbands gives families a joyful moment and a shared connection to something the community is cheering for."

For many families, these small gestures carried profound meaning. Jen and Jesse Shafts' son, Giovanni, spent 17 days in the NICU before being discharged—a milestone they celebrated with extra Cavaliers flair. Jesse arrived at the hospital wearing a Cavaliers sweatshirt, ready to welcome their little one home. It was a powerful reminder that in Cleveland, basketball is more than just a game—it's a way to bring people together, even in the most challenging moments.

Whether it's through tiny knit hats or matching family gear, these NICU babies are showing that Cavaliers pride knows no age limit. And for their families, it's a beautiful way to find joy, connection, and a sense of community during their hospital stay.
