With 77% of the vote last week, Oak Creek senior Rita Sippy wins the Piggly Wiggly high school athlete of the week poll.

Oak Creek senior Rita Sippy is on a roll—and now she has the votes to prove it. With a commanding 77% of the vote, Sippy has been named the Piggly Wiggly high school athlete of the week for April 27 to May 2.

The Knights' standout recently etched her name in the program's history books by breaking the all-time stolen base record, a mark held by Julia Lampe since 2004. Sippy now has 59 career steals, surpassing Lampe's 57, and she did it during a dominant 5-0 week that extended Oak Creek's winning streak to 10 games.

In the runner-up spot was Ethan Hoffman of Hartford boys tennis. The senior, who is headed to UW-Whitewater, made his own history by becoming the first player in Hartford's boys or girls tennis program to reach 100 career wins. He sealed the milestone with a crisp 6-0, 6-0 victory over West Bend East's Sam Loiacono.

Other nominees this week included Tavin Ness (Franklin baseball), Payton Eicher (Arrowhead girls track and field), and Cal Schneider (New Berlin Eisenhower baseball).
