After the last few years, that has to be considered cautious optimism.

After two grueling seasons that saw the New York Giants post a combined 7-27 record, you might expect fan optimism to be at an all-time low. But according to a recent post-schedule poll, Giants fans are cautiously hopeful—and for good reason.

The poll asked fans how many games they expect the team to win in the 2026-27 season, and a solid 63% of voters predicted a finish between seven and nine wins. That’s a significant leap from the past two years, which ultimately led to the firing of head coach Brian Daboll and the hiring of John Harbaugh to steer the ship.

One fan summed it up simply: "I see 6 wins. I desperately hope I have severely underestimated them." Others are more bullish, seeing the Giants as "significantly better than Washington, better than the Boys, and closed the gap significantly on Philly."

The NFC landscape is shifting, and some fans believe teams like Detroit, the Rams, and Seattle will be the true measuring sticks. "Not sure NYG will get past any of them in playoffs," one commenter wrote, before adding with a laugh, "Playoffs!?!"

Rather than picking winners game by game, one thoughtful fan broke down the schedule in clusters: "Home against good teams or away against an average team (Jax, SF, Ind): 1-2. That comes to 8-9 wins, and it seems realistic that they enter that tough final 3 games in playoff contention."

And then there’s the true believer: "Just drank five pitchers of big blue Kool-Aid this morning. Harbaugh is going to pump this team up to win all 17 games. On Sept 13th, dammit, Harbaugh: RELEASE THE KRAKEN! Let's go Big Blue!"

For most, though, the mood is measured. "If they can win 8-9 games and battle for the playoffs I'd be happy. Anything more is gravy considering how bad the team has been."

So, Giants fans—would you be satisfied with a season that falls in the 7-9 win range? After the last two years, that sounds like a step in the right direction.
