Notre Dame football is building serious momentum in the 2027 recruiting cycle, and the Fighting Irish could be on the verge of landing a true game-changer on the offensive line.
On Friday, Steve Wiltfong of On3 submitted a crystal ball prediction favoring Notre Dame to secure a commitment from five-star offensive tackle Oluwasemilore Olubobola. Standing at an imposing 6-foot-6 and 295 pounds, the New Jersey native is a physical mauler who currently checks in as the No. 15 overall prospect in the 247Sports Composite—solidly in five-star territory.
Olubobola boasts an offer list that reads like a who's who of college football royalty, including Ohio State, Texas, LSU, and many others. Despite the late arrival of Notre Dame's offer, the Irish have managed to surge to the front of the pack. A visit to South Bend at the end of April clearly left a lasting impression on the elite tackle prospect, giving Notre Dame a significant edge over its powerhouse competitors.
While Olubobola has yet to announce a commitment date, all signs point toward the Irish winning this high-stakes recruiting battle. If Notre Dame can close the deal, it would add a cornerstone piece to an already impressive 2027 class—and a potential anchor for the offensive line for years to come.
