Per tradition, Notre Dame released the 2026 version of “The Shirt” for football season.

We don’t need to get too deep in the weeds here about all the reasons that the shirt is bad. There’s a formula every year that they love, but it’s a terrible system for creating clothing. Yes, me being a 47 year old Notre Dame fan means I do know this is something that raises money for a charity (just like I’m well aware of the Notre Dame/Navy history) but that doesn’t mean I have to lie about how it looks.
The dark blue is always a bad choice for a fan in the crowd color.
The one really good thing here is the brand of the shirt (The League) makes a great fitting and comfortable shirt.
The class ring gives thoughts to actual championship rings as this is sports — and that’s after a season where the Irish didn’t even make the playoff.
It’s a camel, so it’s absolutely too busy and has too much going on.
I don’t feel the need to wear some type of story around my body.
But like I said… I’m not going to get too deep in the woods on this (although that’s where this shirt probably belongs).
If you like it — fine. If you don’t like it — you get what I’m saying.
All this really means is that the Blue-Gold Game is at hand and the real offseason is about to happen. Enjoy the football we have left.
