Notre Dame students kept the magic alive Friday, dropping the highly anticipated 2026 edition of "The Shirt" just hours before the Blue-Gold spring game lit up campus Saturday.
"The shirt" is not just an average piece of fan apparel, it's a piece of Fighting Irish history that rallies students, alumni, and fans alike while funneling proceeds into cool campus causes, from epic festivals like AnTostal to vital medical mission trips abroad.
The 2026 version marked the 37th anniversary of this tradition. The shirt is 100% crafted by an all-student team, and zero outsiders involved. The goal is to get all 8,400-plus undergrads who venture out to Notre Dame Stadium in the fall to be wearing this shirt.
This year's shirt pays homage to Notre Dame's storied gridiron legacy. The front features a graphic of the Golden Dome intertwined with an Irish leprechaun clutching a football. Around the back, a panoramic glimpse of past Blue-Gold games are on display.

The tradition of wearing the shirt connects generations of Irish fans and alums throughout history. Students can purchase theirs at the official Notre Dame Store or alumni clubs like the Notre Dame Club of Orange County, where fans can feel comfortable knowing every dollar spent loops back to student programs and events.
