The Northern State Wolves pulled off an impressive comeback in Game One of their doubleheader against Wayne State College, securing a 3-2 victory before falling 6-0 in the second game.

In the opener, both teams remained scoreless through the first two innings thanks to strong pitching from Mckenzie Wanner and Taylor Coleman. Wayne State struck first in the third inning when Jordyn Rochholz singled, advanced to second on an error, and scored on a hit through the right side by Jordyn Klein. The Wildcats added another run on a groundout that brought Klein home from third.

Trailing 2-0, Northern State showed their resilience in the fourth inning when Dessa Bryant delivered an RBI double to score Madi Jones. The real drama unfolded in the bottom of the sixth. Sydney Anderson led off with a single, and Brooke Wolf came in to pinch run. Tevan Bryant then ripped an RBI single to right-center, bringing Wolf home. After a sacrifice fly from Madi Jones scored Shayla Warak, the Wolves had completed the comeback and secured the 3-2 victory.

Wanner finished strong, allowing just three hits and two runs over seven innings while striking out one batter. Dessa Bryant led the offensive charge with two hits, including two doubles and an RBI.

Game Two was a different story, as Wayne State's offense took control early and never looked back. The Wildcats scored six runs while holding the Wolves scoreless, splitting the doubleheader and reminding everyone why they entered the game with an impressive 39-13 record.

The split leaves Northern State at 20-26 overall and 10-18 in NSIC play, showing they can compete with the conference's best when their bats come alive.
