North Carolina's NCHSAA softball playoffs are quickly approaching with the bracketing deadline set for Monday, May 4, 2026.
Teams will then complete the first two rounds of the playoffs next week with the third and fourth rounds taking place the following week. The regional tournaments will then take place from May 19-23 followed by the state tournaments scheduled for May 27-30.
The Tar Heel State currently has three teams ranked in the top 25 in the most recent edition of the MaxPreps national rankings. Two of those teams are NCHSAA Class 7A squads led by the No. 18 Weddington [Matthews] Warriors who are closing in on an undefeated regular season at 18-0. The D.H. Conley [Greenville] Vikings are slotted at No. 24, and they have just a single loss at 18-1.
The other ranked team in the state is from the independent ranks. The High Point Christian Academy Cougars are an NCISAA 2 team, checking at No. 41 with a 17-3 record.
