Missing out on the UEFA Champions League wouldn't just threaten Massimiliano Allegri's job and parts of Milan's management—it could completely unravel the club's carefully laid transfer plans and force painful departures, according to Corriere dello Sport.

The ripple effects would be significant. Milan have yet to finalize a full agreement with Leon Goretzka, though they remain frontrunners for his signature. Meanwhile, Luka Modric would likely choose retirement over extending his contract without one final shot at Europe's biggest stage.

Milan already have reservations about the Robert Lewandowski deal, and without a top-four finish—which guarantees at least €90 million in prize money—it's simply off the table. The Rossoneri balanced their books last summer with major sales. While Theo Hernandez was moved primarily due to his expiring contract, they likely would have kept Tijjani Reijnders if Champions League qualification had been secured.

This time, the most vulnerable player could be Strahinja Pavlovic, with several Premier League clubs monitoring him. A €50 million transfer would go a long way toward stabilizing finances if needed. The defender, signed from RB Salzburg for €18.5 million two years ago, has been outstanding this campaign and even found the net five times.

Milan find themselves in the worst position among all contenders, though they face two unmotivated opponents in their final matches. Falling short would be an unmitigated disaster, especially after leading the race for months. Still, with so many excess players available for sale, the club might generate enough cash to avoid sacrificing a key piece of their future.
