In a historic achievement that cements her legacy in Conference USA, New Mexico State's Emma Bunch has been named the CUSA Women's Golfer of the Year for the third straight year. The announcement, made Thursday, places the senior from Lynge, Denmark in elite company—joining TCU's Brooke Hull and Tulane's Pam Bluff as the only women's golfers in conference history to claim the honor three times.
Bunch, currently ranked 88th in NCAA golf, has been on a tear this spring. After kicking off the season with a win at The Clash at Boulder Creek in the fall, she followed up with five consecutive top-10 finishes. Her momentum peaked at the CUSA Championship, where she fired a stunning 7-under-par 65 in the final round to finish at 2-under through 54 holes—just one stroke behind Western Kentucky's Reagan Ramage. NMSU tied for third overall with Sam Houston State at 23-over as a team.
Bunch's consistency and clutch play have made her a standout, and she's now set her sights on the NCAA Stanford Regional (May 11-13), where she enters as the top-seeded individual. While she competed as an individual in the last two regionals, this year she's aiming to advance to the NCAA Championship.
In other Aggies news, true freshman Rylee Salome—a Tomé native and Belen High School graduate—was also named All-CUSA, marking a bright start to her collegiate career.
For fans of women's golf and NMSU athletics, Bunch's three-peat is a testament to hard work and talent. Whether you're gearing up for the next round or just love the game, her story is a reminder that consistency and determination can lead to greatness on and off the course.
