"Last time it seemed like talks were going nowhere and then a deal seemed to pop out suddenly. This one has a chance to get really interesting again, especially if he has a big year and ups his leverage."

By 2028, Jackson will be 31 years old—still likely in his prime with two or three elite seasons ahead. Elite quarterbacks are the most valuable assets in the NFL, and teams are always willing to pay top dollar to keep them. It wouldn't be surprising if Jackson chooses to bet on himself and test the market in two years.
