Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman has a reputation for making big moves. And a top NFL draft expert is expecting another one on Thursday night.
In his final mock draft, NFL.com draft guru Daniel Jeremiah projected the Eagles to trade up in the first round.
Jeremiah had the Eagles moving up from No. 23 overall to No. 15 to select Alabama offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor.
“I’m expecting a big trade market for the 16th overall pick, with teams looking to move ahead of the Lions for an offensive tackle,” Jeremiah wrote. “The Eagles trade up one spot higher to beat the competition for Proctor.”
Roseman has traded up in four of the last five first rounds. He’s accustomed to being proactive about the Eagles landing a top-tier talent.
The Eagles are -150 on Caesars to select an offensive lineman with their first pick during Thursday night’s NFL Draft. Our comprehensive Caesars Sportsbook review shows you how to register and navigate their app.
The Eagles have eight total picks in the 2026 draft, making it feasible for Roseman to make another move.
Offensive tackle is an obvious need; we argued that it’s the top priority in this year’s draft for Philadelphia. Right tackle Lane Johnson is going to be 36 years old this season. He could retire next offseason, and the Eagles don’t have a successor lined up behind him.
As Jeremiah noted, the Detroit Lions need an offensive tackle, too. Detroit picks at No. 17. In order to land a player like Proctor or Georgia’s Monroe Freeling, the Eagles might need to make a move.
Proctor, a 6-foot-7, 352-pound lineman with serious upside and experience, also fits the mold of a Roseman prospect. Proctor is still only 20 years old. But the Alabama standout started 40 games over three seasons for the Crimson Tide.
We all know how much Roseman likes drafting from Alabama. The Eagles traded up to select DeVonta Smith (2021) and Jihaad Campbell (2025).
Don’t be surprised if Jeremiah is right, and the Eagles land another member of the Tide on Thursday night.
