Even a dominant playoff performance couldn't get the New York Knicks past the velvet rope at one of the Met Gala's most exclusive after-parties.
Following a commanding Game 1 win over the Philadelphia 76ers in the NBA Semifinals on May 4, several Knicks stars reportedly tried to celebrate at the ultra-private after-party hosted by Madonna and Sabrina Carpenter at Zero Bond. But according to TMZ sources, the players were turned away at the door.
It seems even NBA royalty couldn't squeeze into the guest list. The party was held on the club's main fifth floor, with a strict cap of around 200 attendees — and the venue simply couldn't accommodate any more guests. Which Knicks players were left outside remains unclear.
For context, the Knicks had just blown out the 76ers 137-98 at Madison Square Garden, making history as the first team to win four consecutive playoff games by 25 or more points. Not a bad night on the court — just not enough to get past security.
After the game, Jalen Brunson offered measured praise for the 76ers' star trio of Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, and Paul George. "When that combination was on the floor together, they won almost 65% of their games," he told reporters. "They were on pace to be almost a 60-win team. So it's gonna be a tough series."
The Knicks and 76ers were set to face off again for Game 2 at 7 p.m. at MSG — proving that sometimes, the real victory is just getting into the building.
