The Florida State Seminoles finally have their first pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, with the New York Jets selecting defensive lineman Darrell Jackson Jr. with the 103rd overall pick in the fourth round.

His selection keeps FSU's 42-year streak of draft picks alive, as they have now had at least one player selected in every draft since 1983. It is the third straight year they have had a defensive lineman drafted, and he joins his former teammate Azareye'h Thomas, who the Jets drafted in last year's draft.

Jackson spent three seasons with the Seminoles, sitting out in 2023 after transferring in from the Miami Hurricanes. He started all 25 games he was eligible for, recording 80 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, and one forced fumble. He made the All-ACC Honorable Mention team after both seasons.

He is at his best stopping the run and absorbing blockers, allowing his teammates to make the play. While his frame at 6-foot-5.5 and 315 pounds and with 34.75-inch arms is special, he needs to improve as a pass rusher. He will look to improve his skill set and earn his spot in the rotation at the rookie minicamp.
