The New York Giants have absolutely crushed their 2026 NFL offseason, earning a perfect A+ grade from Sports Illustrated in their NFC East Offseason Report Card. And for good reason—general manager Joe Schoen and head coach Jim Harbaugh have been busy reshaping the roster with a clear vision in mind.
The biggest storyline? Creating depth and flexibility. Second-year quarterback Jaxson Dart is already seeing the benefits. Not only does he have a stronger offensive line—thanks to the addition of Francis Mauigoa, picked 10th overall after a trade with the Bengals—but he also gained a reliable new target in tight end Isaiah Likely. Likely, who played under Harbaugh in Baltimore for four years, brings the kind of quick-release playmaking that could help Dart get the ball out faster and avoid the punishing hits that sidelined him for two games last season with a concussion.
But the Giants' success won't just hinge on offense. The defensive front, long a strength, is getting a refresh. Yes, Dexter Lawrence was traded to Cincinnati, but the arrivals of Tremaine Edmunds (via free agency) and Arvell Reese (drafted 5th overall) could unlock new opportunities for edge rushers Brian Burns, Abdul Carter, and Kayvon Thibodeaux. Thibodeaux's name has come up in trade rumors, but that's just the new reality under Harbaugh, who has made it clear that everyone is tradeable—and has backed it up with aggressive moves.
In free agency, the Giants also added D.J. Reader and Shelby Harris to fortify the defensive tackle rotation, while Edmunds brings veteran leadership to the inside linebacker corps. The third-round selection of wide receiver Malachi Fields adds another weapon to the passing game.
All told, this is a team that has addressed its weaknesses, added playmakers, and created a roster built for both the present and the future. If the moves on paper translate to the field, the Giants could be a force in the NFC East for years to come.
