They believe they've found their answer in junior Tyler Robles, a proven performer ready to energize the special teams unit.

Robles arrives in Seattle with an impressive resume built at USC and Texas State, where he established himself as one of college football's most reliable kickers. His 2025 season was particularly stellar, earning him second-team All-Sun Belt honors after leading Texas State with 116 points. He drilled 21 of 23 field goals (a 91.3% rate that ranked 8th nationally) and was nearly automatic on extra points, finishing the year 27 points ahead of Washington's departing kicker, Grady Gross.

For a Huskies program looking to shore up its special teams, the upgrade is significant. The numbers tell a compelling story of an offseason overhaul: Robles replaces Gross, who connected on 76.9% of his field goals. The punting game also gets a boost with the addition of Hunter Green, who averaged a robust 46.97 yards per punt last season.
