The NFL offseason is heating up, with teams finalizing rosters and the 2026 Draft just days away. Amidst the flurry of activity, the trade market is stealing the spotlight, and one name continues to dominate the conversation: Philadelphia Eagles star wide receiver A.J. Brown.
Rumors of a potential blockbuster move have swirled for months, with the New England Patriots consistently mentioned as the top suitor. The connection is obvious—Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel coached Brown during their successful tenure together with the Tennessee Titans from 2019 to 2021, making this one of the most tantalizing potential reunions in the league.
The speculation reached a new level recently when Patriots executive Eliot Wolf spoke with NFL Network. When asked about Brown, Wolf's response was far from a denial. "We're gonna keep the door open to anything that we think may improve our roster," Wolf stated, a comment that has only added fuel to the trade rumor fire.
While the financial logistics have complicated an immediate deal—Brown's contract bonuses kicked in mid-March, making a trade more likely after June 1—the possibility remains very much alive. For now, Brown stays in Philadelphia through the draft, but all eyes will be on Foxboro this summer to see if the Patriots can pull off a major splash and reunite one of the game's top receivers with his former coach.
