Despite an early lead, The Lady Wildcats dropped their home game against Willard Thursday night. GAME RECAP:

The Neosho Lady Wildcats came out swinging Thursday night, grabbing an early lead against Willard at Marion Sports Complex—but the momentum didn't last, and they ultimately fell 3-1 to the Lady Tigers.

Right from the opening whistle, Neosho showed their attacking intent. They fired off several shots on goal in the first few minutes, setting an aggressive tone that paid off quickly. Just five minutes in, a well-placed corner kick found Nephtali Smith, who got her body on the ball and directed it into the net for the game's first goal. The home crowd erupted as the Lady Wildcats took a 1-0 lead.

But Willard didn't take long to respond. The Lady Tigers answered back with a flurry of offensive pressure, netting two goals in short succession to flip the script and take a 2-1 lead.

As the first half wore on, the tempo shifted. Both teams settled into a more measured rhythm, focusing on crisp passing, smart ball movement, and maintaining possession. The game became a chess match in the midfield, with each side looking for the right moment to strike.

Willard, however, had the last word of the half—and ultimately the game—scoring a third goal that proved to be the final tally of the night. Despite a promising start, Neosho couldn't find the equalizer in the second half, and the Lady Tigers walked away with the road victory.

For the Lady Wildcats, it's a tough loss at home, but the early flashes of offensive firepower show there's plenty of fight left in this squad as the season continues.
