Nebraska softball (39-6, 19-1) welcomed Iowa (25-24, 6-14) to Lincoln for a three-game series, starting with a Friday doubleheader. The Huskers swept the Hawkeyes on Friday, taking the series and extending their winning streak to 14.
Nebraska started the day with a 9-1 run-rule victory in six innings. Despite Iowa scoring in the top of the first, the Huskers quickly took a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the inning before scoring six more runs. The team finished the game with 13 hits.
Hannah Camenzind led Nebraska in the first game, going 4-for-4 with four RBIs. Ava Kuszak, Jesse Farrell and Kacie Hoffmann all contributed an RBI. Hoffmann finished 2-for-3 while Kuszak and Farrell each earned one hit. Hannah Coor batted 2-for-3 and scored three times.
Jordy Frahm (14-4) won in the circle, pitching a complete game and throwing 11 strikeouts against one hit and one run across 6.0 innings.
Nebraska then took game two 5-2 in front of a program-best crowd of 3,396 fans. The Hawkeyes once again got the lead in the first, this time scoring two runs, but the Huskers tied it up in the bottom of the inning. Nebraska scored two runs in the second and one in the third to secure the win.
Hoffmann finished 2-for-3 with two RBIs in the second game while H. Camenzind batted 1-for-4 with two RBIs. Kuszak pitched in one RBI, hitting a sacrifice grounder. Frahm, Coor, Farrell, Alina Felix and Lauren Camenzind all earned one hit.
Alexis Jensen (19-2) took game two in the circle, also tossing a complete game. She struck out eight batters and allowed four hits and two runs, none earned.
Nebraska and Iowa conclude the series on Saturday afternoon, Senior Day. The first pitch is set for 1 p.m. CT on B1G+.
