In a thrilling midweek clash that had a season-high crowd of 6,148 on their feet at Hawks Field, the Nebraska Huskers completed a season sweep of in-state rival Creighton with a nail-biting 5-4 victory.

The Huskers (28-9) showed their resilience, battling back from an early four-run deficit to secure the win. The comeback was fueled by a standout performance from Drew Grego, who went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer and a crucial RBI single, driving in three of Nebraska's five runs.

Creighton (18-16) came out swinging, building a 4-0 lead by the second inning thanks to a two-run homer and a solo shot. However, the Huskers' bullpen took control from there. After a rocky start, relievers Tucker Timmerman, Caleb Clark, and Ty Horn combined for six innings of one-run ball, with Horn delivering three dominant scoreless frames.

The tide turned in the third inning when Nebraska sent nine men to the plate. Following walks to Dylan Carey and Jett Buck, Grego, Joshua Overbeek, and Rhett Stokes delivered three consecutive RBI singles, erasing the deficit and giving the Huskers a 5-4 lead they would not relinquish.

Closer J’Shawn Unger slammed the door shut, retiring the side in order in the ninth to earn his eighth save of the season and seal the hard-fought rivalry win for the Big Red.
