Nebraska and Ohio State clashed for the second time on Saturday night. The Huskers dropped game two, falling 7-3 to the Buckeyes to lose the series.

The Nebraska baseball team found themselves in a tough spot Saturday night, dropping their second straight game to Ohio State, 7-3. The loss at Haymarket Park not only handed the Huskers a series defeat but also put a dent in their impressive 34-13 overall record and 17-6 mark in Big Ten play.

What made this loss particularly frustrating for Nebraska was the timing of Ohio State's scoring. Every single Buckeye run came with two outs on the board. Ohio State set the tone early, jumping out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning on a three-run triple. They added two home runs and an RBI single, all with two outs, finishing the night with seven hits.

The Huskers managed just four hits for the second straight game, though they showed some fight in the ninth inning. A trio of walks loaded the bases, and a hit by pitch brought in a run. But the Buckeyes held firm, shutting down any hopes of a Nebraska comeback.

On the offensive side, Case Sanderson led the way with a 2-for-4 performance, including an RBI single. Drew Grego chipped in with two RBIs, while Jett Buck added a double and scored once. Will Jesske also contributed a single.

On the mound, Gavin Blachowicz took the loss, falling to 4-2 on the season. He pitched 4.2 innings, striking out four while allowing three hits, two walks, and four runs. Caleb Clark followed with 1.1 innings of work, surrendering one run with a strikeout. Tucker Timmerman closed out the game, striking out two but giving up three hits, including a two-run home run.

The series wraps up Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. CT, with the game available on B1G+. The Huskers will look to salvage some momentum and avoid a sweep at the hands of the Buckeyes.
