The next generation of French football talent was celebrated in style this week at the Golden Kids awards ceremony, with FC Nantes defender Tylel Tati taking home the top honor. The 18-year-old center-back was named Golden Kid Pro 2026, an award given to the best player who made his professional debut this season.
Tati edged out a competitive field that included Paris Saint-Germain's Quentin Ndjantou, Olympique Lyonnais' Rémi Himbert, Toulouse FC's Alexis Vossah, and Le Havre's Stephan Zagadou. He succeeds former Stade Rennais standout Kader Meïté as the winner of this prestigious accolade.
The young defender has been a revelation for Les Canaris, making 21 appearances this season—all as a starter—and anchoring Nantes' backline. Unfortunately, an injury in mid-April forced him to end his campaign early, leaving him sidelined as his teammates ultimately fell in their battle to avoid relegation to Ligue 2.
Now in its second year, the Golden Kids ceremony—held at the Pan Piper in Paris—recognizes the best French U17 and U19 players across eight categories. A panel of foreign professional scouts, journalists, and sporting directors evaluated 43 nominees, making this one of the most comprehensive talent showcases in French football.
PSG players dominated several categories. Aymen Assab was named best player in the U19 national league, David Boly took home best overage player honors in the same division, and Tanté Diakité won the Golden Kid Pro 2026 award. Vitória SC's Oumar Camara was voted Golden Kid Pro International 2026, highlighting French talent making waves abroad.
In the younger age groups, Amiens SC's Aly Traoré won the Golden Kid U17 award, while ESTAC Troyes' Yanis Kharbouch claimed the Golden Kid Avenir U17 prize. Finally, Lyon's Ajdin Muninovic brought the crowd to its feet with his Goal of the Season award—a fitting end to a night celebrating the bright future of French football.
