In a revealing moment on the Game Recognize Game podcast, Milwaukee Bucks forward Myles Turner dropped a bombshell about the team's culture under former head coach Doc Rivers. According to Turner, the Hall of Fame coach never fined players for tardiness, creating a relaxed—some might say chaotic—atmosphere that surprised even a veteran like him.

"Doc Rivers, he didn't fine anybody, ever," Turner said alongside WNBA star Breanna Stewart. "Guys were late all the time, guys were showing up to film whenever they wanted to show up, guys were missing meetings. It was one of the craziest things I've personally ever experienced."

Turner contrasted this with his previous teams, where punctuality was strictly enforced. "Every other team I've been on, guys got fined. There was a sense of order and a sense of understanding. You're late to the plane, fine. You're late to treatment, fine. You're late to film, fine."

The lack of accountability reached such extremes that Turner adjusted his own schedule. "If the plane took off at 2 o'clock, we weren't leaving until 4:30. I'm being so serious, bro. It was crazy. Guys were an hour late to the plane. It got to the point where I just knew not to show up until an hour after they said the plane was taking off."

When asked who was the biggest offender, Turner didn't hesitate: "Giannis is gonna show up whenever he wants, really. I think that just came with the territory. And once I kind of saw what was going down I said, 'Hey, man, more power to you. They ain't going to fine you. Do what you do.'"

As a two-time MVP with veteran leverage, Antetokounmpo's habits were part of the team's reality. For Turner, who joined the Bucks this season after a decade with the Indiana Pacers, it was a stark contrast to the disciplined environment he was used to. Rivers himself acknowledged in a separate April podcast that he didn't hold players accountable for being late—a stance that clearly shaped the team's day-to-day operations.
