The Milwaukee Bucks have hit a rough patch, and the cracks in their once-strong foundation are becoming impossible to ignore. Since their championship run in 2021, the team has struggled to recapture that magic, and now, some hard truths are being aired out.
Indiana Pacers center Myles Turner, who spent a season with the Bucks, recently pulled back the curtain on what he describes as a dysfunctional team culture. Speaking on the Game Recognize Game podcast, Turner didn't hold back. He painted a picture of a locker room where accountability was scarce, and star power seemed to come with its own set of rules.
"Doc Rivers, he didn't find anybody. Guys were late all the time, guys were showing up to film whenever they wanted to show up, and guys were missing meetings," Turner revealed. "It was one of the craziest things I've ever experienced."
The most eye-opening detail? The team's travel habits. "If the plane took off at 2:00, we were leaving at 4:30. I'm being so serious," Turner added. When it came to two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo, Turner suggested the superstar operated on his own schedule. "Giannis is going to show up whenever he wants, really. I think it just came with the territory."
This isn't just a blip on the radar—it's a sign of deeper issues. The Bucks' championship core of Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton, and Jrue Holiday was once the envy of the league. But that chemistry has dissolved, and with trade rumors swirling around Giannis this offseason, the tension is palpable. Antetokounmpo didn't take Turner's comments lightly, firing back on social media with a message to "mind their business."
For a team that once defined stability in the East, the Bucks now find themselves at a crossroads. Whether a fresh start for their franchise player is the answer, or a complete culture overhaul is needed, one thing is clear: Milwaukee's house needs some serious cleaning.
