In a game that showcased both resilience and timely hitting, Musselman broke open a tight contest with a decisive sixth inning, rolling past Moorefield 7-2 on Wednesday evening in West Virginia high school baseball action.

The Applemen entered the sixth inning clinging to a slim 3-2 lead, but quickly turned the tide in their favor. The inning was ignited by a Kamdyn Woolum triple, setting the stage for a rally that included singles from Wyatt Zimmerman and Tannor Sharp, along with a fielder's choice that pushed four runs across the plate.

Sharp not only contributed at the plate but also delivered a strong performance on the mound. He earned the win after tossing 5 1/3 innings, striking out four while allowing just one earned run on three hits and two walks—a steady outing that kept the Yellow Jackets at bay.

Moorefield showed early fight, with Mathew Iman providing the highlight of the night for the home team. In the bottom of the second inning, Iman crushed the first pitch he saw deep to right field for a solo home run, one of just three hits for the Yellow Jackets (13-9).

Blake Snyder took the loss for Moorefield, working 4 1/3 innings while surrendering four earned runs and striking out five. Despite the setback, the Yellow Jackets will look to regroup quickly as they close out the regular season against No. 1-ranked Frankfort (18-7) on Thursday at 6 p.m.—a tough test that will surely demand their best effort.
