Hamburger SV fans received some welcome news this week as left-back Miro Muheim made his full return to team training, giving the club a timely boost ahead of the season's final stretch.
The 28-year-old Swiss international has been sidelined with a syndesmosis injury, missing the last three Bundesliga matches. But on Wednesday, May 13, Muheim rejoined his teammates for an open training session in front of 500 enthusiastic supporters at the HSV training ground.
"He looked good. It would be great if he could play again. It was his first training session; we'll have to see how he fares over the next few days," assistant coach Loic Fave said, offering a cautiously optimistic outlook.
Muheim's recovery isn't just good news for HSV—it also comes as a boost for the Swiss national team, who will be heading to the World Cup in the USA, Canada, and Mexico this summer. With the season finale approaching, the defender could potentially slot back into the squad for the crucial closing matches.
However, it wasn't all positive on the training pitch. Midfielder Nicolás Capaldo sat out with back problems, while striker Robert Glatzel was absent due to a calf strain. Adding to the injury concerns, Alexander Rössing-Lelesiit suffered a setback in his own comeback from a syndesmosis injury and underwent surgery on Monday, May 11.
As HSV push toward the finish line, the mix of encouraging returns and lingering absences keeps fans on edge—and adds extra drama to what promises to be a thrilling conclusion to the season.
