The Michigan State Spartans are making a bold push to flip a talented linebacker from SEC territory. Caleb Green, a three-star prospect from Lee's Summit, Missouri, announced on Friday that he has received an offer from MSU, signaling the Spartans' intent to strengthen their 2027 recruiting class.

Green, who stands out as a versatile defender, initially committed to the Missouri Tigers back in April. At the time, he chose Mizzou over a solid list of programs including Iowa State, UCF, Liberty, Arkansas State, and Kent State. But now, the Spartans are hoping to change his mind.

Ranked as the No. 60 linebacker in the nation and the No. 11 player from Missouri in the 2027 cycle, Green carries an 87 rating in 247Sports' system. He's also listed as the No. 726 overall prospect in his class—a player with clear upside who could develop into a key piece for any defense.

Since Green's commitment to Missouri is still relatively fresh, Michigan State has a window of opportunity. The Spartans will need to act fast, likely by securing an official visit later this month or in June, to make a serious run at flipping him. If they can get him on campus, they'll have a real chance to showcase what East Lansing has to offer.

For a program like Michigan State, known for producing tough, physical linebackers, adding a player of Green's caliber would be a statement win on the recruiting trail. Stay tuned—this is one recruitment to watch as the summer heats up.
