The football world is buzzing with anticipation as Real Madrid accelerates its search for a new manager, and all signs point to a dramatic reunion with the "Special One." With the season winding down, the Spanish giants are moving swiftly to finalize their next leadership move.

It's been clear for some time that current boss Alvaro Arbeloa won't be staying on past this campaign, especially after a series of locker room tensions have come to light in recent weeks. In response, the club has turned to a familiar face to restore discipline and order: José Mourinho.

According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, Mourinho is set to meet with Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez next week to put the finishing touches on his return to the Santiago Bernabéu. This isn't just a rumor—the Portuguese tactician, who is currently at the helm of Benfica, has reportedly informed key figures within the Benfica hierarchy that he will be leaving at the end of the season. Benfica, in turn, has already started scouting replacements, with Fulham's Marco Silva emerging as a top candidate.

Interestingly, this time around, the decision is being driven directly by Pérez himself, a departure from last summer when the club leaned on advisors to appoint Xabi Alonso. While names like Mauricio Pochettino, Jurgen Klopp, Massimiliano Allegri, and Didier Deschamps were all considered, Mourinho has emerged as Pérez's clear favorite.

Everything is falling into place for the "Special One" to make a triumphant return to the club where he won three domestic titles between 2010 and 2013. Sources indicate that Mourinho is expected to sign a two-year contract, keeping him at the Bernabéu until 2028. For fans of the iconic white jersey, this could be the start of a thrilling new chapter.
