Monmouth women's basketball had a successful season, who will return?

The Monmouth Hawks women's basketball team is flying high after a standout 2025-2026 season, and the offseason is already shaping up to be just as exciting. With a 21-12 record and a second-round appearance in the WNIT, the Hawks proved they are a force to be reckoned with. For the first time since 2012, they also notched 11 home wins—a testament to the energy and growth under second-year head coach Cait Wetmore.

As the roster takes shape for 2026-2027, Monmouth has been active in the transfer portal and recruiting trail, adding key talent to build on their momentum. Here's a look at who's coming in and who's staying in West Long Branch.

New Arrivals: Big-Time Talent Headed to the Shore

The Hawks have landed three impactful transfers, each bringing a unique skill set to the floor.

First up is Kailah Correa, a 5-foot-4 guard who joins Monmouth after a strong freshman season at Delaware. The Lebanon, Pennsylvania native averaged 9.8 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game last year. Known for her quickness and scoring ability, Correa is ready to bring her game to the Jersey Shore.

Next, the Hawks added size and grit with Sanai Tyler, a 6-foot forward who spent her junior season at Bethune-Cookman. Last year, she averaged 5.3 points and an impressive 6.5 rebounds per game, giving Monmouth a much-needed presence in the paint.

Perhaps the biggest splash came with the commitment of Vanessa McManus, a 5-foot-7 guard from Staten Island. After a standout sophomore season at Cal Poly, McManus averaged 15.9 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.3 assists, finishing as the fifth-leading scorer in the Big West Conference. Her ability to create her own shot and stretch the floor will be a game-changer for the Hawks.

Returning Star: Gigi Gamble Stays Home

In a huge boost for the program, guard Gigi Gamble has announced she will return for her senior season. The 5-foot-5 transfer from Somerset, New Jersey, initially planned to enter the transfer portal but decided to stay with the Hawks. This past season, she averaged 15.2 points and 1.1 steals per game, serving as a dynamic playmaker and leader on the court. Her decision to remain in blue and white keeps a key piece of the offense intact.

With a mix of returning talent and new firepower, Monmouth women's basketball is poised to build on its best season in over a decade. The 2026 offseason is just getting started, and the Hawks are making all the right moves.
